The name ‘Eglise Noire’ derives from the founder/writer/director Evangelist Dr. Arletha Lands of the ‘Black Church Production Company.’ While making Black Lives Matters T-shirts as a support to the movement of murdered black men and women, another idea arise as part of her creative sense to take her artistic abilities to create luxurious canvas handbags for Christian women to carry their bible, personal things, and a style of fashion like no other will have hanging on their shoulder or carrying in their hand. The evolving of “Eglise Noire” became known in East Oakland California in 2019. Evangelist Lands set out with a simple goal: to make beautiful, sophisticated, classy, elegant, one-of-kind handbags from the finest canvas and leathers. As a genuine creator of unusual designs and patterns, the brand goes on to establish its original leather transfers and canvas combination exclusively to high-end innovations; minority women; Christian women; and women who loves being different in style.
